Murray Region is a beautiful area located in the border of Victoria and New South Wales in Australia. The region is home to many distinguished and famous people who have made significant contributions in various fields. In this article, we will explore some of the remarkable personalities from the Murray Region.

One of the first names that come to mind when talking about famous people from the region is Albury-born Brian Cox. He is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club during the 1980s. Cox is considered as one of the best defenders in the history of the Australian Football League and has been inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame in recognition of his achievements.

Another well-known figure from the Murray Region is the journalist and newsreader, Peter Hitchener. Born in Kerang, Victoria, Hitchener is currently the chief news presenter for the Nine Network's Melbourne bulletin. He has received several awards for his contributions to the media and was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to broadcasting.

The Murray Region is also home to some exceptional musicians such as Lisa Mitchell, who was born in Albury and grew up in the small town of Albury. Hwang is a leading international arbitrator and mediator and has been appointed to many high-profile cases around the world. He was awarded the Singapore National Day Award in 2014 for his contributions to the legal profession.

The region has also produced some notable politicians, including Sussan Ley, the current member for Farrer in the Australian parliament. Born in Nigeria but raised in Albury, Ley has been a member of parliament since 2001 and has held several ministerial positions, including Minister for Health and Minister for the Environment.
